Sassicaia, like many of the greatest products in life, began as an experiment, a love venture that stumbled on fruition owing to chance and time and effort.
The wine began in 1940s as a homemade reddish designed by a curious Renaissance people attempting to imitate Bordeaux on his Bolgheri home near the Tuscan coastline.
